I have been active on linkedIn since my 1st year of post-graduation. One of my faculty suggested me to use linkedIn as I have been highly active on Other social media.
In this article I suggest some tips for new user of this “awesome” platform.
LinkedIn can be useful for following:
-Networking
-Marketing
-Lead generation
-Social media Influncer( You can be …. One day)
–Job search
-And many other.
Now question is how LinkedIn will be useful for Job search?
It’s most important for you as a a fresher to get a job, but do you know what is more important than get a first job? Get a right job. Here I will tell you how to use LinkedIn to get a job.
Network:
why network is so much important? As you are still in college-you are going through your “honeymoon phase” you have your friends,your circle-with whom you spend your most of the time, they will help you to get out of trouble each and every time, that is your netowrk.
As you are about to start your professional life, it is the most important thing for you is to make a great network.
Network can be of two types
- People have same interest:
- when you connect with the people who shares same interest as yours, you have a lots of things to share with each other,
- you will be a great pair as a business, when you share the knowledge with each other you will crate a pool of ideas to generate a money flow (unknowingly)
- people who can be helpful to you.
- you will connect with the people who are either a hiring manager or the concern person who can be your referral to get a job.
- there are some positions in a company which can know by people but not on the career page of company.
Profile:
Which social platforms you are using the most? Let me guess, it would be either an Instagram or a Facebook right? Any platform, but I bet your profile(Dp, Bio, etc, etc) is the most important thing, right? You would be curious about who are your friends, what they are commenting on your posts, what they are uploading, with whom they are connected right?
Same way LinkedIn works, your LinkedIn profiles is the most important thing, here are some important factors:
Display picture: Your Display picture should be professional, You should not keep alphabets or fake pictures or should not keep it blank.
Bio: In LinkedIn this section known as “ABOUT”.
You need to list down your qualities, your knowledge, your educational backgrounds, your professional experience(not for fresher)
Post: what you are posting on LinkedIn is important as well, post about your knowledge, post about your project, post about your internships, post about your experience. That will help people to know you better, that will people to understand your thought process.
comments: Just like a facebook, if you comment on any post of the Linkedin, it will spread to network, in another way it will be shared with the people. So be careful whenever you comment on anyone’s post-other people can see your profile.
